Work for Auto Duniya Now
Now Hiring – Multimedia Auto Journalist
We are looking for a multimedia auto journalist to join our team as it scales up. This person would be a journalist first — chasing news stories while also reviewing vehicles, travelling to launches and events, and comfortable being on camera. This industry is full of “car reviewers.” If that's all you are, thanks, but no thanks.
As a multimedia journalist, you will provide both written and video content for our outlet. We publish written stories on our website and produce video for social media and YouTube. You will be responsible for producing content across all of those areas and must be a self-starter able to produce work with little oversight.
Qualifications
The basics:
- You should know how to write, film and produce content independently.
- A journalism or mass-communication background is preferred. We can't teach you how to write a news story — you need to have that figured out.
- Have a nose for finding a good story idea.
- Understand our outlet covers cars, bikes, EVs, tractors and trucks — India first.
- Realise we focus on practical things real buyers care about — mileage, service costs, boot space and ride comfort — not the exact millimetre of a shock tube.
- Realise lighting matters, and so does sound quality.
- Write in a natural, conversational way for everyday Indian readers, not for a dictionary.
- Don't dwell on unimportant details that may only annoy you.
- Get that video thumbnails matter a lot.
- Realise the world is changing and written work doesn't pay what it used to for 500 words.
- Write in plain English (or Hindi) — and without AI.
- Understand SEO basics and how readers actually find our stories.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate understands car culture, gets a thrill out of covering breaking news, knows the team here is genuinely driven (so we expect you to be too) and doesn't spend the day daydreaming about a perfectly restored vintage Premier Padmini. You should be a journalist first, be comfortable mentioning sponsors during a vehicle review (the new world of the business) and want to travel for the vehicle — not for the location or some relationship-building exercise.
Pay
The almighty question — how much will I get paid? This position will start as part-time at ₹25,000 – ₹40,000 per month depending on the work produced. It is NOT a salaried position. It is paid by work produced, like a freelance role, and terms will be discussed. Yes, it is easy to reach the targets, and yes, we expect you to reach those targets each month. This isn't rocket science.
It is expected this position will grow into a full-time role in the ₹6–8 LPA range. If you find yourself still part-time after a year, then, well, we'll just have to figure out what went wrong. Our outlet is growing quickly and we expect you to grow quickly as well.
No benefits to start.
Email admin@autoduniyanow.com if you are that person.
